His first every walleye!
Buffalo Entrance Channel
I'm grateful I changed this trip to Saturday, 8/16, late morning instead of Sunday. My aim was to help Hunter, my 5-year-old friend, achieve his first-ever walleye catch with his dad. The bite had slowed down from the early morning craziness (what a morning) -Sun was higher- temperature was hotter, we face a brief challenge, but Hunter eventually landed his first walleye, measuring 21-1/2 inches. Now thats a great start. He was overjoyed, and I was equally thrilled. Soon after, he hooked into “ the Lake Erie monster” a impressive one, measuring 25-1/2 inches and weighing 5-1/2 pounds. We had a wonderful day, filled the box, and when Hunter said, '11 fish is good, Dad,' we headed back. I strongly believe that these trips should focus on creating a positive experience for the kids, without pushing them too hard. Hunter is eager to repeat this experience, and I'm happy to have played a part in introducing him to fishing! 🎣 I did MY job. Thank you, Dad, for the opportunity!
