"We met at the dock. I like to be early so I got there about an hour before the trip and he was already there smiling and ready to go fishing. The safety talk was short and to the point . I have been on other trips where nothing about safety was mentioned(Not good ). The trip to the fishing spot was short and the boat was skillfully handled. The most important part of the trip, catching fish was accomplished successfully with myself and two buddies all catching fish, we even caught a rock, had to throw that back, it was out of season. We all had a great time and the fish cooperated, Captain Tom did an outstanding job. We are all looking forward to our next trip. I would highly recommend Captain Tom to Fisherman of any level. BOTTOM LINE: We had a great time with a great guide!" - mike

Walleye are the crown jewels of Lake Erie fishing, and for good reason. These golden-eyed predators are known for their tasty white fillets and the challenge they present to anglers. Walleye in Erie can grow to impressive sizes, with fish over 10 pounds not uncommon. They tend to school up, so when you find them, the action can be fast and furious.
Spring and fall are prime times for walleye fishing, as the fish move into shallower waters. During summer, we often find them suspended over deeper water, following baitfish schools. What makes walleye so exciting to catch is their aggressive strikes and powerful runs. When a big walleye hits your lure, you'll feel that distinctive 'thump' that gets every angler's heart racing.
While walleye are our main target, don't be surprised if we hook into some yellow perch along the way. These scrappy little fighters are a blast on light tackle and make for excellent eating too. Perch tend to hang out near the bottom, often in the same areas as walleye. When we find a school of perch, it's not unusual to catch them two at a time!
Look, if you're itching to get out on Lake Erie and tangle with some walleye, this 4-hour trip is the way to go. It's the perfect amount of time to get a real taste of what Erie fishing is all about without taking up your whole day. We've got all the gear you need, so just bring yourself, some snacks, and maybe a camera to capture your big catch.

Walleye are one of Lake Erie's prized catches, often growing to 20-30 inches. These golden-olive predators have distinctive reflective eyes that help them hunt in low light. You'll find walleye hanging around rocky areas and drop-offs, usually deeper during the day and moving shallow to feed at night. Spring and fall are prime seasons, but summer nights can be hot too. Anglers love walleye for their hard-fighting spirit and excellent table fare - their firm, flaky white meat is tough to beat. To boost your chances, try slow-trolling with live minnows or nightcrawlers near the bottom. When you feel that telltale thump, set the hook hard - walleye have bony mouths. The satisfaction of reeling in a chunky Erie 'eye is hard to describe. Once you've battled a few, you'll be hooked on chasing these elusive fish.
